一只大蝎子，一直牛逼的乐队。这支德国乐队最初由Rudolf Schenker 在1969年组建，原始阵容：节奏吉他和主唱手Schenker, 主音吉他Karl Heinz Follmer, 贝斯Lothar Heimberg, 鼓手Wolfgang Dziony. 在1971年，Schenker’s的弟弟Michael加盟乐队并成为主音吉他，而他的好友Klaus Meine成为新的主唱手。这支乐队的新阵容在1972录制了单曲“寂寞的乌鸦”，并被用作德国电影Das Kalte Paradies的插曲，但未吸引了公众的注意力。然而年轻的Michael却吸引了当时的摇滚乐队UFO的注意力，于是1973年Michael离开了乐队，成为UFO的主音吉他。他的位置便由Uli Jon Roth接替，在Uli Jon Roth的领导下，蝎子在美国无线电公司(RCA)陆续出了四张专辑Fly To The Rainbow(1974), In Trance(1975), Virgin Killer(1976), 和Taken By Force(1977)。但这些专辑未能引起美国人过多的关注，而是在日本受到了极大的欢迎。可当Taken By Force发行后，Roth却因担心自己的音乐理念与乐队的分歧，离开了乐队重新组建了Electric Sun。可在1978，乐队还是发行了与Roth合作在东京的现场演奏的双碟Tokyo Tapes。在Roth离开后，Michael也因酗酒被踢出了UFO，在1979年又回到刚与Mercury唱片公司签约的蝎子乐队。同年，乐队出专辑Lovedrive并作了第一次巡美演出，然而这次努力并未成功，相反过分性感的封面遭到了美国人的严厉谴责。而Michael 仍是吸毒酗酒，并因此经常错过演奏的时间，Matthias Jabs 便被雇佣替补他未能到席的演出。最终Michael认识到自己的归来不能给乐队带来益处，离开了蝎子。
这时蝎子的新阵容：主唱Klaus Meine，节奏吉他Rudolf Schenker，主音吉他Matthias Jabs，贝斯Francis Bucholz，和鼓手Herman Rarebell在1980年发行了新专辑Animal Magnetism，并作了第二次环球演出。出人意料的是这张专辑竟被美国人接受，成为畅销品。备受鼓舞的蝎子迅速回到录音棚，积极准备他们的下一张新专辑，但好事多磨，这时乐队的主唱Klaus Meine却因要做声带手术，延迟了新专辑的出炉。于是关于Klaus Meine将被解聘和重金属歌手Don Dokken已代他的流言四起。但1982年Klaus Meine的归队，和新专辑Blackout的发行，使纷纷扬扬的流言不攻自破。这张专辑获得了巨大的成功，仅在美国一地就卖出了一百多万张的白金记录，而专辑中的那首”No One Like You.”更是脍炙人口。而1984年的新专辑 Love At First Sting使其一举成为世界顶级乐队，其中的MTV单曲”Rock You Like A Hurricane”更是家喻户晓，获得了双白金的殊荣。接着乐队又作了环球演出，展示了他们活力四射，火爆疯狂的现场表演。
但继1985的专辑World Wide Live发行后，乐队沉寂了两年。他们的第十张由录音棚制作的专辑Savage Amusement在1988年问世，其中的主打歌曲”Rhythm of Love”更是业绩不凡，使一度销声匿迹的乐队再一次取得了极大的成功。
