初贬官过望秦岭

草草[1]辞家忧后事，

迟迟去国问前途。

望秦岭上回头立，

无限秋风吹白须。

公元815年，宰相武元衡被暗杀身亡，白居易上书奏请捉拿凶手，却被权贵责为越职上奏，贬为江州（今江西省九江市）司马。他路经骊山脚下的望秦岭时，写下了这首双关诗。第一句说匆匆离家，来不及安排家事，更担心的是国家大事。第二句说慢慢上路，舍不得离开国都，去江州的路途遥远，自己政治上的前途更是渺茫。所以在望秦岭上回望京城，就只感到秋风吹动白须，自己觉得茫然了。
